CIS Technical Electives

Have technical elective course credit authorized on your degree plan before taking the course.

At least two of the four required technical electives must be upper division (3000 or 4000 level) courses. For official course descriptions and prerequisites visit the University of Houston Course Catalog.

The CIS program accepts all 3000 or 4000-level classes in the College of Engineering (including in the Division of Technology) and the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics as Technical Electives.

Note: CIS Majors must get pre-approval from Dr. Tony Liao, Digital Media Program Coordinator, to waive prerequisites for DIGM 4381 and DIGM 4382.

CIS Majors must get pre-approval from the instructor in the Department of Engineering Technology to waive prerequisites for ELET courses.
